Rules & Dress Code

Students will not participate in the consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or electronic cigarettes during camp.  The camp will be conducted in a smoke-free environment.

Minnesota Aviation Career Education Camp respects students’ rights to express themselves in the way they dress.

This policy was implemented to guide students, staff, and parents in what is appropriate for the type of activities we will be engaging in during camp and the vendor’s requests of staff and students.

Minimum Requirements

Remove sunglasses when inside buildings. Hats can stay on.

No dresses or skirts should be worn throughout the week. Our program is very active, and you may be required to sit on the floor and jump down a slide. Skorts are fine!

No ripped clothing. We’re in an environment where you could be seriously injured if your clothing catches on something. Climbing in and out of old airplanes, loose cables, etc.

No slippers or flip-flops during facility tours. Close-toed shoes must be worn at all times for your own safety during facility tours. During the “Under the Wing” Delta Tour, tennis shoes or boots will be required in order to walk near the airplanes.

Additional Requirements

Clothing may not depict, imply, advertise, or advocate illegal, violent, or lewd conduct, weapons, or the use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, or other controlled substances.

Clothing may not depict or imply pornography, nudity, or sexual acts.

Clothing may not display or imply vulgar, discriminatory, or obscene language or images.

Clothing may not state, imply, or depict hate speech/imagery targeting groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, or any other protected classification.

Clothing and accessories that endanger students’ or staff's safety must not be worn.

Apparel, jewelry, accessories, tattoos, or manner of grooming that denotes membership in a gang that advocates illegal or disruptive behavior is prohibited by its color, arrangement, trademark, or any other attribute.

All participants must stay in their assigned room provided by the camp. No room swapping. No sleepovers. No leaving your room after room checks. No walking around any of the facilities unescorted.

Violation of this rule may result in immediate removal from camp.

You will be given instructions upon arrival at each facility and tour.

The rules and regulations of each facility must be followed at all times. This includes all facilities we visit during camp as well as our lodging facility.

All students must respect the facilities we use by keeping them clean and without damage.

Camp staff members will inspect each student’s room during check-out to record any property damage, collect used linens, and room keys.

Lost room keys are an additional $100 replacement charge. They are real room keys, not a key card.

You will be given a badge on the first day of camp. This badge must be worn during all guided tours. We will be entering high-security areas, and this will help prevent you from being separated from the group. 

Should you lose or misplace your badge, let your Camp Director know so we can have a new one made for you.

Minnesota ACE Camp utilizes a self-administration policy for students who need medication during camp. This means the student must be able to understand the dosage required and when given the medication, be able to accurately dispense it themselves.

For safety reasons, any student taking medications (prescribed or over-the-counter) must notify the Camp Directors during check-in. 

With the exception of Rescue Medications*, Camp Staff will secure student medications throughout the day until they are ready for use. 

Please pay attention to the following requirements before bringing your medications to camp:

• Medication must be in its original container

• Medication label must show:

  • Medication Name

  • Correct Dosage

  • Directions for use

  • Your Name (only if prescribed)

When needed, the student can retrieve their medication(s) from Camp Staff and self-administer under supervision. 

*medications that are used to treat acute symptoms or emergencies, typically for Asthma, Allergic Reactions, or Epilepsy
